The Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Award

In partnership with the Centre for Hellenic Studies at King’s College London, the annual award ceremony and lecture for the Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Award 2024 was held on 18 June 2024.
This year's prize of £500 was won by Ella Morgan for the dissertation ‘Girls in the Gaps: the cult of Iphigenia at Brauron & the importance of Taurian Artemis’.
Congratulations to Ella, shown above giving her acceptance speech and receiving the winner’s certificate from Dr John Kittmer, Chair of the League.
Following the ceremony, the annual Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Lecture was given by Prof. M.M. McCabe on ‘Socrates in Prison’ (pictured below).

Katie Lentakis (1920-2000) was a devoted member of the Anglo-Hellenic community of London and served as Vice-Chairman of the League for many years.
After her death, the Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund was established by the League out of donations given in Katie’s memory. The Fund is charitably invested and the annual interest goes towards an award, which, since 2002, has been made every year to a final-year undergraduate studying in the Faculty of Arts & Humanities at King’s College London.
The Katie Lentakis Memorial Fund Award rewards the writer of the best submitted essay on a topic related to any field of Hellenic Studies.
